Thankful Thinking

At the conclusion of this Thanksgiving holiday, I am thankful for so many thiings; thankful to wake up each and everyday with the ability to praise God for opening my eyes to my wonderful husband, having a job to drive to, a mother to laugh with, a brother to call and friends and family to pray for, a nation towards progress.

In preparation for the Christmas season, I have continued the tradition that was started by my parents growing up of having my Christmas tree up by Thanksgiving. I figure I might as well enjoy it for the entire sesaon, why do all of that work for just a few days, it only happens once a year. This year my Christmas color palette is blue and green, with a hint of purple and silver. Wondering you may... but trust me it is beautiful. Here are a few things within my color pallette that I hope inspire you. Enjoy and be thankful this holiday season!

Pink Honey

I think this color combo would be great for fall. The colors of honey and pink give rich hues, but still gleam softness. Don't you love the cake!

Established In...

What a great gift idea for the new couple from Pretty Personal Gifts.

This would look great set up on the escort card table or gift table, and also be a wonderful keepsake

This would be beautiful in your home as you begin your new life together.

Golf Wed

This post is inspired by my husband's attendance to Dr. J's Celebrity Golf Tournament this past Saturday (yes that's right "the" Dr. J).

A golf course is a beautiful backdrop for an elegant and unforgettable wedding. Below are a few golf club venues in the metro Atlanta area that you may want to consider.

Here are pictures from weddings at the Atlanta National Golf Club in Alpharetta, GA.

Check these pictures out from weddings held at the The Georgia Club in Statham, GA.

Royal Purple

Fall royally into purple, one of this season's hottest colors.

For the nontraditional bride, who wants a splash of color, I thought this gown by Nicole Miller was fabulous, oh so chic. The bouquet with a splash of purple compliment it wonderfully.

For the bridesmaids, this short rich colored dress by Lauren by Ralph Lauren is sure to be worn again, and with these two toned shoes, how could you resist. The bouquet full of purple blooms makes a nice contrast and brings in the lighter shade of purple found in the shoes.

The elegant invitation is perfect for this modern affair. Don't you love how the votive candle holder from Zgallerie matches perfect with the design on the invitation

How could we forget the cake. This is truly a work of delicious art that is fit for a queen and king on their royal wedding day.

Linked Monograms

Monograms always make details of a wedding personalized and unique. This custom guestbook, candle and aisle runner by Etsy vendor Idoweddingdesigns add wonderful detail to your wedding day. The items can be customized to your wedding colors. This scheme of fushia and black really pop.

Oh yeah, by the way, PINK is my favorite color. All shades... so get ready; as much as I try to fight it in my likenesses, I can't help it.

Cake of the Month - Initial Love

Of course the first Cake of the Month post would have to be my own. The flavor was yellow cake with grand monya and fresh strawberries. Absolutely delicous! As a topper I used a rhinestone cursive L to represent my new last name "Layne". This added a touch of glamour. The design complimented the bead work on the bodice of my bridal gown. It is nice to bring in accents on your cake that represent other details of your wedding. It helps to tie everything together and makes the cake even more personal to fit your wedding style.

Something Blue

Here are a few ideas to incorporate this sentimental color into your glamorous wedding day attire.

I love these shoes by Marciano and know they
would look great with a variety of bridal gown styles.
The color is subtle, but still makes a statement.

You will soon learn that calla lillies are one of my favorite bridal flowers. The accent of blue throughout white calla lillies is the perfect touch.

These earrings would be so elegant.
